Hiya G! Hope your meetings went well. 

I had a fun day catching up from being out, and running a monthly All-Staff lunch. I made a list of tasks for August and tried not to barf. It’s such a crazy month! I console myself that, if my retirement theory works out, this will be my last time through all these events!

Hubby is out at karaoke with a pal so I am home alone, looking at naughty photos and having fun with my toy! Remembering your lips… mmm…

Sassy-
I am afraid we will have to defer our meeting tonight.

I just got to my new office in the burbs. The traffic is like I have never seen, backed up, virtually not moving. I had forgotten that the construction starts this week (my first week working in the western suburbs in 7 years!). 

My meeting this afternoon is at 3:00. I’m not sure how long it will be but by any reasonably estimate by the time I get on the road, there’s no telling when I will get back in town. I may just stay out here and return late after the traffic. Let’s defer until this is over.

Hello Sassy. Just back home at last.

Decided to have dinner with my mom in the burbs and wait the traffic out. Came up 128 to Rt 3, into town, so will look forward to hearing about evening commute on my usual route on the news tomorrow morning.

Hiya G! Glad to hear you made it home. Hope everyone figures out different routes so it’s not so bad going forward. Do you have to brave it again tomorrow?

How’s your Mom? Hope she was having a good day.

I ended up at PF Chang’s again! A lady friend of Hubby’s wanted to go there. I swear I don’t go there twice a year and suddenly everyone wants to go! Good thing they have such a large menu and I like it. Of course, that made me think of you even more.

No word for over two weeks… at least I didn’t blather on without a response this time?  
So many questions… what the heck happened to move him from 100 mph to zero?  Why did he come after me so hard for months and see me twice and only then say he is conflicted?  
Ugh.  I can’t do this anymore.   Ooof…. I wanted this man SO MUCH.  *sigh
I am making one more try.

Well you are very sweet:)

An afternoon canoodle is enticing, but I think though it would be imprudent/impolite for me to move my meeting. There are three people who will be at the meeting which would make settling on another date a chore. Might be tough to find a place to canoodle in the middle of the day anyway:)

Did you get outside today? So pretty! We adventured to Walmart and Sonic up Rte 1. Nothing like a corn dog!

I adore PF Chang’s so that works for Monday.

What time makes sense for you? You like 5 pm? I’m flexible.

Transition

I have no tips since I have failed miserably at retirement. Another five years for me.

I was thinking about the last months in a job, how to go out in style, ease the transition for them, prep so the new person can take over etc

I split the transition into five goals:
1) Increased documentation of tasks and timelines,
2) clean up paper archives,
3) cross-train colleagues,
4) discuss revision of job description and
5) Get electronic documents where they belong (get personal stuff off work computers, get work stuff off home computer to work computer)

I need to do all of those as well, but need the pace to slow enough so I have a hope of getting to even one

Nothing exciting going on here. I’m about done shuttling between offices. Had dinner last night with a friend who has a booze problem. Long night, and even longer day today. I needed a nap from the time I got up. Looking forward to it being tomorrow:)

Hope you’ll get more sleep tonight and tomorrow is better.

We went to the Winthrop Arms Hotel for the first time. Their restaurant is spectacular! No lobster but lots of other seafood. Very 1970s vibe in a good way.

Had dinner from Sweet Rice in Charlestown tonight. Ever tried them? Very tasty Asian treats. That is my first time getting delivery from anywhere over there.  You ever go there? Any other faves I should try?
