You didn’t wake me.  I woke up at 3:30 am and puzzled over a project for work.  That is not like me… I’m usually a serious sleeper!  Finally gave up and got up at 5:30 am. And saw your wonderful message!  So I am dragging a bit today but smiling because of you.  
The office is quiet.  Both my colleagues at my level are out sick, so my boss is in another office covering for one of them!  She has already pestered me with a call and five emails but will not pop in unannounced.  And she’s in training most of the day tomorrow, so I have a reprieve for awhile.  
I’d adore talking to you again. Send me a quick email when you want me to call you?  You emails are not shallow!

It is so fun to write to you, and hear from you!  It feels like the best thing to do with my time.  That’s a good sign, right? 
I am very lucky that you found me.  It is so freeing to be able to be me, share smart and sexy conversation, plan a fun outing together.  And it can get better if we click in person!  You add way more pleasure than stress, and any fear is not over anything you have done, but what your brothers in cheating did.  But it usually works out – I’ve only had one “really bad man” – so the law of averages is on my side!  
Wikipedia helped me read up about Catullus.  Those Romans were a wacky bunch!  My classics pal went to grad school at Yale in Classics before the museum bug got her, but may not have read the Confessions because she is Jewish.  I do think she was very cool with you.

Oh how I wish it were yesterday! I loved our time together, only 5 hours was too short! 
I am glad you had a great party yesterday, family is so important.  
I loved your travel stories and will fill in the map when I get a second, though I’ve been overseas more.  Planes make me fall asleep, so no flight lasts more than 10 minutes for me, drives the family crazy! This topic will give us something to talk about during those awkward, pregnant pauses when we meet.  
We (most of the family) are watching football today and I’m doing stuff for work that I didn’t get to yesterday! I’m such a bad dog! So I will not be able to write anything too long, but would love any scrap you can throw my way!
I liked your syllabus for our encounters, you could be a teacher! Now I am going to break down those months into individual lessons.  That is what teachers do!
Meeting One 
(not Thursday, but if Thursday leads to oh, la-la)
Title: Our Bodies Meet And Greet
Goal: to show and learn about our bodies in a beautiful, non judgmental, intimate encounter (trist?). No one takes charge, so no one feels left out, it just unfolds naturally, beautifully with mutual understanding
First Activity: We kiss and explore each others mouth, tongues and those soft spots on the neck, ear lobes that drive each other crazy. Enjoy and revel in that first make out session. make it something to cherish for life. Our hands will run over our bodies feeling the curves, noting the ticklish spots, finding the squirm areas.
Second Activity: Then we slowly undress each other, drawn out, one at a time. Hugging and kissing and free roaming hands, but one can’t help the other remove any article of clothes.  It will be slow with kisses, fanning the fires.  We will enjoy and and take in our glorious nakedness in in all it’s beauty, imperfections and desire. but we will not touch the most intimate areas, not yet, we will wait, want and desire a little.
Third Activity: We will lie in the fire, side to side, naked and wanting more, oh so more… We will look into each others eyes and slowly let our hands travel down our heightened bodies to our most intimate areas and while gazing into the other’s eyes,; touch each other, study our reactions, touch and explore. Between our labored breathing we will tell each other what we like and how we want to be touched. It will be honest, open, beautiful. It will be positive and we will learn about each other and respect the power of our touches.
Fourth Activity: After we have touched and been touched and we burn for more, we will take turns going down and slowly making our bodies burn.  We will remember what made us squirm at the beginning.  Our mouths will explore our chest, nipples, our belly buttons, our pubic hair.  Then we will explore and share our most private, sensitive areas of our body.  We will give pleasure and receive pleasure, confident in each other to say what we want, need, desire.
Activity Five: We find release in anyway we want, no pressure, just fulfilment.
Activity Six; When we are done, we gaze into each others eyes, softly touching. No words, just take in the glow.
How do we assess the assignment (this is why I hate testing – it follows me everywhere): We plan our next trist.

I just rolled out of bed.  I’ve been up a couple of times already but kept going back to stay warm, cuddle with kitties and muse on the things you told me yesterday.  
Did your wife and daughter have good things to say about the March?  Sis regaled us with amazing tales of the sea of pink-hatted women pouring out of homes and streaming to the T together, singing on the subway, chanting and applauding and enjoying the speakers, and no cell phone service!  My FB feed was full of people marching all over the world!  It helped stem the sadness from Friday and energize them. 
Your pedagogy and planning are stellar!  I was fascinated to see how you took my outline and fleshed it out!  (see what I did there?)  I could easily follow it and yet kept thinking… that’s going to be tough the first time… we’re going to strip and shag like rabbits.  And then I got the end of the lesson and BINGO!  In theory we can circle back around for exploring… or save it for the next time.  You are such a romantic!  Please don’t be sorry for that.  
I’d better get rolling… I will be thinking of you and how I could sit at your feet and distract you with my hands and mouth during the commercials!

Hiya Tim! 
I told my college friend the classics major what you said about your favorite classical writers.  Here is her response: 
“He sounds cute and smart.  So, yes, Catullus, but he’d want to say Vergil if he thinks I’m being judgmental.  Of course.  Vergil is skilled and powerful, elegant and incisive, self-consciously competitive and ultimately highly significant.  But if you like someone with an unvarnished soul, whose emotions are transparent even through the traditional poetic persona, a small-town boy caught up in the intrigues of urban life and tangled love, Catullus is your guy.  Worldly and witty, yet sensitive–and so readable….  He’s a real favorite of mine.  I went to his hometown in Italy on Lake Garda just to get a better sense of his love of the place.  He died young (maybe at about 30), so it’s hard to know what he may have become if he’d written longer the way Vergil did.  He certainly would have been even more prolific–if it didn’t cause him even more pain.  
So, then your friend adds St. Augustine.  Most people who read Confessions (which I have not, for perhaps obvious reasons) focus on the issue of the struggle with sin in a life of faith.  I don’t know that I find this a confusing thing at all.  Catullus is usually read quite early in classical education because many of the poems are short and syntactically straightforward, but many of them are also considered a bit racy for younger students–but that can also be just why some students like studying Latin!  I taught Latin to a class of 9th graders once and they were certainly motivated to get to the “good stuff!”  I read a lot of stuff that one might not think of as representing a “healthy” lifestyle–or even a healthy way of talking about it.  Perhaps to some, Augustine would provide a reasonable counterpoint or evolution of thought.”
So what do you make of that? I think she liked your answers, but she is so smart it’s often hard for me to tell.  She graduated summa cum laude, where I only managed cum laude.  
I was so relieved she didn’t say, “Oh no!  Run away!  Run far away!”  Ha ha.  I wonder if there are any writers you could have named that would have produced that result.

This reminds me of another story.  One of my AM men wanted to meet my mother.  People were like, “How can you do that? What are you going to tell her he is?”  
“Mom… this is my friend Kris.  He’s from NH.”  Heh.  
So we went to the Ninety-Nine for lunch and had a lovely time.  She flirted with him!  I had never seen her do that.  It was a revelation!  I made the mistake of leaving them alone for 4 minutes while I went to the women’s room.  When I came back they had their heads together giggling.  I looked from one to the other, but they just smiled.  
Later in the car, Kris said, “Your mom is a gas.  She told me a big secret about you.”  My eyes widened… she must have liked him to do that.  Then I began to worry about what she might have said.  
“She told me you are very smart.  I told her I know.  She said you don’t let on most of time, and asked if you had told me you were Phi Beta Kappa?”  
I laughed so hard.  Of all the things she might have spilled about me… it is something I never bring up!  But thankfully relatively harmless.  He kidded me about it now and then.  
He said he shared a secret with her.  Something he had not told me!  I felt a little envious!  He must have really liked her too. 
Mom is gone, so I had to tell you this big secret myself.

The birthday party went quite well! My niece is such a fantastic kid. The food was delicious – pasta alla norcina, salad and nutella brownies! It’s tricky for the grown-ups to get along but everyone behaved well! And she opened my present first. 🙂

Hiya Tim,

Talk of your travels got me thinking about mine. It’s good for me to remember them and see how each trip added to my life. Let’s share lots of fun stories.

My parents were big travelers and took us all over the US and Europe, then I continued with my sisters, and did bits on my own when I was on a national charity board for 10 years. I have slowed way down because Hubby won’t fly, so we enjoy wonderful day trips now. New England has beautiful places!

Here’s a fun U.S. map of where I’ve been – only have 6 states to go! My best memories are of the red rocks in Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, standing on the black sand at the bottom of Waipeo Valley on the Big island of Hawaii, or touching a glacier in Alaska. She attended the opening of an arena in Nottingham that featured the figure skating stars of the day from all over the world, gathered by Torvill & Dean! We also saw Diana’s childhood home at Altorp, Parliament and Buckingham Palace, Harrod’s, Baker Street. And four shows in the West End! She knows how to show a gal a place.

My dad was in summer school in Oxford when I was 7. We drove to Rome and back in three weeks, so I have a little girl’s view of Europe. My older sister kids me that I only remember when we were lost or there were ducks or doll houses. Mostly true! I remember something about England, the channel crossing from Dover to Calais, Paris, Lyon, Amsterdam, Edam, Munich, the boat down the Rhine, the Swiss Alps (cow bells!), Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, Monaco, Florence (with flood marks above my head), Rome, Venice, Marseilles, Nice, Brussels…

There is still a long list of places I want to see.

I always look around and wonder if I could live where I am visiting… and always come back to Boston.

Sorry to be so out of touch. The trip to Canada was not eventful, but lots of family times…great stuff. After we got back, my dad (in Canada) had a fall and broke his hip. Not sure how well he will come out of this. He is in the hospital now and being a very grumpy old man. There’s no way mom could take care of him in this state. We’ll see…

Meanwhile, the cold bug has hit us up since we got back. i’m in my second week of it, missed a few days of work and this one seems to be lingering for a very long time. Makes it difficult to think of much but sleep and dreaming. Hope you have been able to avoid this thing. I know a lot of peope at work have been missing time.

I have most of the day to myself today…just puttering around in the basement and keeping a low profile.

The birthday party went quite well! My niece is such a fantastic kid. The food was delicious – pasta alla norcina, salad and nutella brownies! It’s tricky for the grown-ups to get along but everyone behaved well! And she opened my present first. 🙂

Talk of your travels got me thinking about mine. It’s good for me to remember them and see how each trip added to my life. Let’s share lots of fun stories.

My parents were big travelers and took us all over the US and Europe, then I continued with my sisters, and did bits on my own when I was on a national charity board for 10 years. I have slowed way down because Hubby won’t fly, so we enjoy wonderful day trips now. New England has beautiful places!

My best memories are of the red rocks in Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, standing on the black sand at the bottom of Waipeo Valley on the Big island of Hawaii, or touching a glacier in Alaska.
