Awww… you look relaxed.
9:23PM Phil
Yeah, this doesn’t suck

Smoking a cigar in the surf under amazing stars
9:24PM Sassy
Could do that every night?
9:24PM Phil
Oh yeah, I like it here.

So peaceful
Listening to music
9:28PM Sassy
Sounds ideal.
9:30PM Phil
Looked at houses today.  Lots of tiki bars and plenty in my price range on the water
9:39PM Sassy
That one place looking incredible.  Will it be safe in a storm?
9:42PM Phil
Has automatic shutters on all doors and windows. It’s up off the water a bit. We want something exactly like that with a small boat.  The neighbors say they do ok

9:43PM Sassy
Can you hire a pool company?  Keeping those up is tricky. Does it have a great bathroom or two?
9:44PM Phil
Spectacular neighborhood and exactly what I hoped for in retirement. I’ll stay in the DC area another few years but would like to buy a place while the rates are still low and use it as a vacation home
9:45PM Sassy
Can you rent it out when you’re not there to make some back?
9:45PM Phil
Bathrooms are spectacular. I had a pool for 20 years but would hire someone here
 Sassy
Oh right… I remember now.
9:46PM Phil
We could but would rather not
9:46PM Sassy
Is there a military base around there, PX etc.
9:47PM Phil
Houses are cheap compared to DC so not much of a mortgage
Lots of military folks
So yeah, all that stuff is available

9:48PM Sassy
Wow
That kid from our little hometown has come far!
selling your other property?

9:48PM Phil
Yeah
My retirement income is generous so we should manage ok
9:50PM Sassy
Wowzers
9:51PM Phil
I still make 95% of what I made on active duty in retirement pay
9:51PM Sassy
I am looking into retirement at age 60
9:51PM Phil
Plus my retirement from the current job
9:51PM Sassy
Had my broker crunch the numbers… he said I have 133% of what I’d need.
9:51PM Phil
I’ll work till I’m 65 cause I’d go crazy other wise

That’s awesome!
9:52PM Sassy
My employer has this benefit where if I work until a certain age and service, I get retiree health care
9:52PM Phil
We won’t be rich but we will get by, especially down here
9:53PM Sassy
That date is only two years away… so I could go anytime after that
9:53PM Phil
My medical and my wife’s is free
That’s awesome!
9:53PM Sassy
We plotted for me to pay for stuff until my pension kicks in, then SS… and I’d still have lots of money.  Mom took good care of us.
9:54PM Phil
That’s very cool too

9:54PM Sassy
It’s freaky to have my pipe dreams all of sudden look possible and less than 3 years away
I will find some volunteer work or even another job.  Thinking about leaving helps me put up with the hard days now.
9:55PM Phil
: )

[photo of him smiling in the shower from the chest up]
In the shower I go
9:55PM Sassy

Rub something for me
9:59PM Phil
Ha!

Great to see these women recognized for their sporting behavior!

Though they failed to medal, runners Abbey D’Agostino and Nikki Hamblin were given special Olympic medals for their display of sportsmanship last week.
D’Agostino and Hamblin collided during the 5,000m on Tuesday and paused during the race to make sure they were both alright. D’Agostino ended up finishing the race despite suffering a torn ACL, sprained MCL and torn meniscus. For their actions, both runners were presented Saturday with the Pierre de Coubertin medal, awarded to those who exemplify the Olympic spirit.
