As part of the tributes honoring William Shakespeare today in the 400th anniversary of his death, Prince Charles took to the stage at a gala in Stratford-upon-Avon. He was, in effect, the final contestant in what might be called a Royal Shakespeare bake-off. A stellar cast of veteran Shakespearean actors –among them Benedict Cumberbatch, Ian McKellan, and Judi Dench-offered various interpretation of the Bard’s most famous line from “Hamlet”: “To be, or not to be, that is the question.” The real prince appeared and said, “Might I have a word?” He then settled the matter, with dramatic emphasis on “QUESTION.”
