Serious Sassy

September 11, 2015 Friday

Dear Readers,

Hope this is an uneventful Friday for you.

It doesn’t happen very often – Sassy is going to be serious today.  I promise to go back to being sexy and silly soon.

Hard to believe it’s been 14 years since that fateful day in the US.  In some ways our lives have changed a lot due to the events on that sunny Tuesday morning.  In other ways, we have gone back to normal… the new normal…but still… life goes on.

More and more that day feels like “history” rather the fresh gaping wound it was for so long.  We still pause to remember, to hear about the amazing things the families of the victims have done in their memory, see the new buildings in New York, the memorial in Pennsylvania, adore Jon Stewart for pressing for continued help for the first responders when he could be living a quiet life on his animal farm.

Whenever I meet a new man, we eventually share where we were on this day in 2001, how it made us feel, how we helped our friends and families connect or get home from wherever they were stranded, how we changed or didn’t.  I wonder what it would have been like if I had been seeing a nice man from AM at that time, longing to be in touch to be sure they were safe, longing to see them to reaffirm life in the best way.  I wonder what people who were cheating on that day went through, if they were stranded together, or apart and worried, if the strange events of that week complicated their relationships even more.

It seems so odd that I did not know my Sassy side existed then.  And I didn’t know any of you then, that we didn’t share that day or the hard days after it.  I am so glad Philip helped me find that side of me and that led me to here!  You have gotten me through such um… “interesting times,” I imagine we would have supported each other in wonderful ways back then.  The fact that you are out there now makes me feel calmer about any new disaster that might befall this world, or me.  This sexy part of the blogosphere has it quirks, but when going gets tough, it is a great resource in the best way that the strange and sexy connections between people can make it!  Thank you dear bloggers and readers!

Hugs with groping!

-Sassy

Hiya Brett!
Thanks for your note!  Hope you are staying warm and dry tonight.  I’m home alone cuddled with the cats.
Someday you can teach me about fantasy football.  I’d like to understand.
I had a grand birthday!  I went out to Framingham for lunch with a gal pal.  She treated me to Olive Garden – I adore their spaghetti and sausages.  We had a family dinner at my sister’s house.  She cooked me the most delicious rack of lamb with rice pilaf with sugar snap peas sliced into it.  And pie.
So sorry to hear about your phone!  I’m pretty sure you had it as we left the hotel.  Seems like you checked it right before we got into the elevator?  Do you have that app that tells you where it is?  Hope you had it backed up.  I go nuts without mine.  I’ve never lost it, knock on wood, but it did decide to sail out of my purse in March and land face down on the pavement.  Screen shattered and it was dead.  Argh.  Made it very tough to transfer anything.  I got everything but my texts.  Whee.  I wish they’d let me walk into a store to get a new one, but I had to wait 2 days for it to arrive in the mail.  I hope yours turns up!
Lunch sounds great!  Or morning or late afternoon… Do you have a vision of what you want to do?  Tell me your ideal and I’ll do my best to make it happen.  I am pretty flexible.  I have one meeting on Thursday at 2pm, so I can do anything but that.
I am so excited to see you again..and touch you, taste you… mmmm….

Sassie,
Sorry, I forget to send you an email on your birthday.  Aghhh.  Hope you had a happy one.
We had our fantasy draft last night.  It started at 7:30, and then crapped out about 1 hour into it, so we had to start again at 9:30.  I don’t know if you’ve even done fantasy football before but drafting is a stressful hour and a half.  Anyway, I got it done and the pundits rate my picks very poorly.  We’ll see what happens when the points start rolling in.
Meanwhile, I’m under additional stress as I’ve lost my cell phone.  Perhaps I was too distracted by other events and dreams, but the last time I know I had it for sure was on my way to meet you, I texted (and received).  I did a scan of the hotel room before leaving and didn’t see it.  I thought I used it both on the way home and at work (on Saturday), but I cant be sure of the last two.  I called the Hotel and they didn’t find anything.  I’ve looked through my car.  I missed it on Sunday, but thought I left it at work so didn’t worry about it but it wasn’t at work when I got in on Tuesday.  Oh well…I’ll give it a few more days.
Meanwhile, I was thinking that we should at least meet for lunch sometime next week.  If you’d like to, pick a day and between us we can figure out a spot.

Longest reign

September 9, 2015 Wednesday

4:37am Phil

Wow!
How can it be that long ago I first saw you!  Seems like yesterday.

12:52pm
From Sally Beddell Smith’s “Elizabeth the Queen” facebook page:

She did it! Today in Scotland, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning monarch in British history. She showed respect for the great-great grandmother whose record she surpassed by wearing a diamond brooch that had belonged to Queen Victoria. She was also typically modest in the brief remarks she gave on her historic day after traveling from Edinburgh on a steam train. At the Tweedbank station in the Scottish Borders…”

7:48pm
Delicious dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Assembly Row. Not crowded.

 Baked potato soup…mmmm…bacon
Victoria filet and baked potato. Perfect.

42 years ago today… you showed up at church to help out with Fall Festival and got assigned to help the skinny teenage gal string flags across the driveway between the booths.

Hiya Brett!  Hope you’re enjoying this beautiful Labor Day, and making it special.
Hubby and I adventured to the South Shore last night to try a fancy restaurant down there – the Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham – to kick off my birthday celebrations.   I sat in their lovely Colonial dining room thinking of you.   MMMMM
Hugs with groping.  😉

RE: Happy Labor Day!
Hi Sassy,
The day was uneventful here.  It was warm but yesterday went well into the wee hours so it was kind of quiet around the house today.  I took the opportunity to do some research.
Sounds like you had a great meal.  Yesterday, we cooked up some marvelous steak with portabello mushrooms and gorgonzola cheese.  Steak is a rarity here so it was thoroughly enjoyed.
Kisses,
brett

Meet #2 Longer than 10 minutes

September 7, 2015 Monday Labor Day
I got up early, ate a bowl of cereal, hung out on the internet for awhile, then showered, shaved and got dressed.  I drove over to the Cambridge Brewing Company, found a nice parking spot on the street less than a block away and strolled to the restaurant right on time for our noon meet.  It was wicked hot outside!

The restaurant was locked up tight!  There was a sign, “Closed for the Holiday.”  Huh.  I went around to the patio and there he was typing on his phone.  He smiled and gave me a quick hug.  We puzzled over why the place was closed.  No notice of that on their web site.

We decided to go over to the mall.  I offered to drive, as he isn’t familiar with this area.  So we walked back to my car. I parked on the upper level of the garage and he chose PF Chang’s for lunch.  I threaded my way through the mall and back out to the restaurant.  We got a corner banquet table.  He sat across from me rather than beside me.  He ordered the kung pao chicken lunch special with a spring roll.  I got my usual hot & sour soup with the spicy green beans side. And the strawberry cucumber limeade.  He said he was considering a beer, but he is a bit of beer snob and they have only mediocre choices.  I pointed out the Dogfish Head and a couple others that people at my office like.  He said since he was driving he’d better not, so he drank water.
The food came out quickly and we munched and chatted.  It turns out he is a teacher!  I would not have thought that.  He looks more like a lawyer or insurance exec.  He had on a golf shirt and khaki pants.

We talked about where we were raised, Thanksgiving traffic, and random things.  After the food was cleared he asked how long I’d been on AM and how I’d fared.  I tried to get him to go first, but he said he told me his name, so I get to answer this question!  I told him about Philip finding me and then joining AM three years ago this weekend and then 17 first dates, and finally two nice men from NH and a year on the shelf.  He told me about being on for 6 years, having several long-term relationships, still in touch with several.  We talked about expectations – passion, fun, no “bunny boiling.”   He said he had been very lucky to find nice, normal women who like sex.

He looked at my watch at 1:30 pm and said he had to go.  He paid the bill.  I offered cash but he declined.  We made our way back to my car in the parking garage.  He said he had a few more minutes… could we sit in the car?  Sure thing.  I got in and cranked up the air-conditioning!

He asked me if I had ever done anything sexy outside and I told him very briefly about my time in the cemetery with the Blog Fan.

He said, “I can kiss you now.”  I looked over and laughed, “Oh really?”  He laughed and leaned over.  It was a good start.  I put my hard on his face and let him control it.  I moaned softly.  He kissed me deeply, then backed away, saying, “Oh yes… I think we can have fun.”

Turns out I had no cash – I had given it all to Mom yesterday!  So he paid for my parking too.  Luckily it was only $3.99.  I pulled up near his car back over near the bar.  He kissed me again, weaving his fingers into my hair and going deep with his tongue, then sighed and said he really had to go.  He kissed me once more and was gone.
