There’s a wonderful fellow by the name of Anu Garg who shares a word a day with the world. I get it via email but it also appears as a web page. There are often fun weekly themes, like this week’s “words that have all five vowels in order!”

Over the years, I’ve noticed that while I enjoy reading about the words, many days the best part is an extra that Anu tosses in at the bottom. They’re often tied to the date or slyly comment on an issue of interest. I read it. And then I read it again. And then I think about it and how it perfectly sums up an aspect of my strange and wonderful life. And then… I know I have to share it. Here is today’s entry:
A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can’t see from the center. -Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., writer (11 Nov 1922-2007)
Goodbye permanently
November 11, 2014 Tuesday
Me: We got Mom moved on Thursday. Brutal day but she is happy! Her new place is gorgeous! Philip took a motorcycle course Friday, rented a bike for 6 hours on Saturday and got his bike Monday. So strange to hear him say the things you did at the start. One more day tomorrow with my boss before she adopts! Hope life is treating you well! 9:36 AM
Kris: I need to end any further contact with u. I am with a woman I love and have asked to consider marrying me. She knows about us and to help me not do what was wrong. I even have told her about recent texts (while of course not disclosing your identity in any way). This is not about you but about me. This needs to be goodbye, permanently and for real. I know u understand and wish u well in every way. Kris 10:51 AM
Me: I understand. Best wishes! 10:52 AM
