Believe it or not, Verizon FINALLY stopped billing my mother for internet service EIGHT MONTHS after I asked to have it turned off!! It only took 9 calls, over 10 hours on the phone… asking, begging, pleading, shouting, crying. They have at long-last stopped billing her and credited all the charges!!!

I also asked them to get the phone out of my dad’s name last October.  That’s still not done.  I’m not going to bother.

They sent me a survey asking how I like their customer service. HA HA HA. They called for details. I told them they have a BIG PROBLEM. I asked them for a free month and they granted it! So… all’s well that ends well? Harrumph.

It makes me want to get rid of my landline so I can stop giving them any of my money!

http://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2015/07/self-diagnosis-on-internet-not-good-practice/

Interesting article from the Harvard Gazette about a study of medical symptom-checking web sites.
“In many cases, getting the exact diagnosis may not be as important as getting the correct advice about whether — or how quickly — to go to the doctor.

“It’s not nearly as important for a patient with fever, headache, stiff neck, and confusion to know whether they have meningitis or encephalitis as it is for them to know that they should get to an ER quickly,”

9:33pm Philip

Lets : )

A sea lion, Cajun and my cooking

July 9, 2015 Thursday

6:50am

From the Pulptastic Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/pulptastic/?fref=nf

This sea Lion meets and has a nap with her rescuers everyday.

Last year, a Galapagos sea lion named Panchita was caught up in a net, which left deep cuts all over her body. She managed to make it to this hotel, where animal advocates nursed her back to health for 3 months. After she was fully healed, she was released back into the wild. But every day, she returns to rest with the humans who rescued her, after being out at sea all day. She is now pregnant and expecting within a month.
